These terms govern your use of KAI-ching (kaiching.co.nz), a free New Zealand grocery price-comparison tool. By using the site you agree to them. Plain English, no surprises.
- KAI-ching is a free service, provided as-is, to help you compare prices.
- Prices are indicative and can be out of date — always check at the checkout before you buy.
- We're independent and not affiliated with any supermarket.
- Nothing here removes the rights you have under NZ consumer law.
The service
KAI-ching compares grocery prices we collect from the public websites of Woolworths, Pak'nSave and New World, roughly weekly. It's a free service offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Price accuracy
Prices shown are sourced from each retailer's website at our last weekly scan and are indicative only. They can differ from the price you'll actually pay: prices change, specials expire, in-store and online prices can differ, and prices vary by store and region. Always confirm the price at the checkout. We don't accept liability for any loss or shopping decision made in reliance on prices shown here. AI features
The "build my shop" assistant and receipt scanner use automated AI. Their outputs are generated automatically, can be wrong or incomplete, and are suggestions only — not advice. Check anything important yourself. Savings figures are estimates unless you scan a receipt, and even then reflect the data we hold, not a guarantee. Don't rely on AI outputs for dietary, health, or allergy decisions without verifying the actual product.
Acceptable use
Please use KAI-ching for your own personal, non-commercial grocery shopping. Don't scrape, bulk-download, resell, or systematically extract our data or catalogue; don't attempt to overload, probe, or abuse the site or its AI features; and don't use it unlawfully. We apply fair-use limits to the AI features to keep them free for everyone, and may restrict access that breaches these terms.
Intellectual property
Product names, images and prices belong to their respective retailers and suppliers and are shown for price-comparison purposes. Product images are displayed from the retailers' own image servers. If you own content shown here and want it removed, email hello@kaiching.co.nz and we'll action it promptly. The KAI-ching name, look and the compiled comparison dataset are ours.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights or remedies you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or other New Zealand law that cannot be contracted out of. Where those Acts apply, they override anything here to the contrary. To the extent the law allows, our liability is otherwise excluded.
Changes and contact
